2010 Honda Civic

The British-built Civic Type R will be exported to Japan from next year. The acclaimed 3-door hot hatch, manufactured at Honda's factory in Swindon, England, is to be shipped to Japan where it will go on sale during 2010.

The model will be called the Type R EURO, to distinguish it from the Japanese-market 4-door Civic Type R saloon, and will be sold in limited numbers.

Japan is the third country outside Europe to import this high-revving hot hatch with the red ‘H' badge, following Australia and South Africa. The demand for the European-produced car in Honda's domestic market is testament to the dedication and skill of Associates at Honda's largest European factory - the only production facility in the world that builds the Civic Type R 3-door.

Honda of the UK Manufacturing (HUM) also builds the 5-door Civic, Civic Type S and CR-V for Europe and will start production of the Jazz, this Autumn.

Japan also imported the previous Swindon-built Civic Type-R (EP3 model) in 2001.

The Traverse name was originally used for a concept car at the 2003 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, but that concept gave way when the Chevrolet Equinox launched for the 2005 model year. The production Traverse's design was inspired by the 2005 Chevrolet Sequel concept, and has a chevron-shaped grille similar to the 2008 Chevrolet Malibu. The Traverse has unique sheet metal different from the other Lambda crossovers, with the exception of the doors.

* In 1999, Chrysler introduced the 300 HEMI C. It was a 2+2 convertible bearing the new 5.7 litre HEMI engine with 353 horsepower (263 kW) and 353 lb·ft (479 N·m) torque. It had rear wheel drive and a four speed automatic transmission. It was capable of 0-60 mph in under 6 seconds.
* In 1991, Chrysler introduced a concept 300.It used the engine of the Dodge Viper. It was inspired by the Monteverdi High Speed, a 1970s Swiss-built sedan powered by Chrysler.

Volvo S80 PPC

Volvo's Personal Car Communicator (PCC) remote control will also be an optional feature with the new S80. This feature is fairly new to the automotive industry. Before a driver gets to their car, they are able to review the security level and know whether they have set the alarm and if the car is locked. Additionally, there is a heartbeat sensor that warns if someone is hiding inside the car.

From the end of May 2010, a new range of engines is available for the so-called "2011 model".
The range now includes three petrol engines (1.6, 2.0 and T5, the latter only available with front-wheel drive and automatic transmission), four Diesel engines (the existing DRIVe and the new D2, D3 and D4) and the 2.0F Flexible-fuel engine that can run either on normal petrol or E85, an ethanol-petrol mixture. The updated 2.0 and T5 and the new D2, D3 and D4 are compliant with the Euro 5 emission standard (the rest are Euro 4-compliant), and the DRIVe includes a start-stop system for reduced fuel consumption and emissions. New 6-speed gearboxes are used in the D2 (manual: B6 D2), D3 and D4 (manual: M66D, automatic: Aisin AWF21).
